Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a vital role serving students as a contract Speech Language Pathologist for the upcoming 2026-2027 academic year. This on-site opportunity is based in the Rockville, MD and Washington DC area, working within local schools to support a variety of age groups. Assignments typically cover two or three campuses, with most days spent at a primary location and occasional coverage at a secondary site. Caseloads vary, with elementary groups averaging up to 40 students and middle school peaks of up to 57 at the height of the year, starting lighter in the fall.

Your expertise will help shape individualized interventions, with assignment details thoughtfully matched to your skills and location preferences through conversations with your supervisor.

Key Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Active SLP licensure for Maryland; must provide images of licensure upon request
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred, but strong Clinical Fellows (CFYs) will be considered
  • Experience in a school-based setting for at least one year, unless highly recommended with stellar references
  • Ability to complete House Bill background check and meet time-sensitive credentialing
  • Willingness to participate in an eligibility or “prescreen” interview as part of the selection process
  • Interest in collaborating with your supervisor to identify suitable caseloads and campus assignments

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and consultative speech-language services for diverse student populations
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and contribute to IEP development
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and fellow specialists
  • Maintain accurate records and provide meaningful progress reporting
