As a CAS Assessor , you'll conduct comprehensive assessments for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in home and community settings while working independently and making a meaningful impact across New York. Position Overview Position: CAS Assessor (OPWDD) Employment Type: Full-Time Location: Dutchess / Columbia / Greene / Sullivan, NY Work Setting: Home and Community-Based Assessments Pay Rate: $27.00 per hour Weekend Availability: Required as needed Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in one of the approved disciplines listed below. Minimum of one (1) year of post-graduate experience working directly with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in a setting primarily serving the I/DD population. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency with computers and electronic documentation systems. Valid New York State driver's license or government-issued NYS ID. Ability and willingness to travel throughout the assigned region. Availability to work weekends when needed. Proof of degree (diploma or official proof of completion) is required. Accepted Bachelor's Degree Disciplines Anthropology Art Therapy or Dance Therapy Audiology Behavioral Science (conditional upon management review) Child Development or Family Relations Chemical Dependence Administration Community Mental Health Counseling or Guidance Criminal Justice Divinity, Religion, or Theology Drama Therapy Education Gerontology Health Administration Health Education Medicine Music Therapy Nursing Nutrition Occupational Therapy Pastoral Counseling Physical Therapy Psychology Recreation and Leisure Studies (conditional upon management review) Recreational Therapy Rehabilitation Counseling Social Work Sociology Special Education Speech Pathology Vocational Counseling Preferred Qualifications At least one year of experience conducting assessments for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Experience adapting interviewing techniques for individuals with varying communication abilities. Ability to effectively engage individuals, families, caregivers, direct support staff, and healthcare professionals. Strong organizational, documentation, and time-management skills. Ability to work independently while maintaining high-quality standards.
