As a Cabling Technician Co-op, you will work closely with our technicians gaining valuable experience through hands-on installation of cabling infrastructure, premise security and audio/video disciplines.

Effective co-ops will have the ability to communicate with impact, have strong self-awareness, and will be naturally inquisitive.

Job functions include:

• Installing pathways and low-voltage cabling in new or existing buildings.
• Termination of new cabling.
• Testing and troubleshooting of cable.
• Mounting network racks and cabinets.
• Mounting and positioning network and surveillance equipment.

Qualifications to perform this job successfully include:

• Strong computer skills and good writing skills.
• Ability to work on a ladder for extended periods of time.
• Ability to routinely lift 50 lbs. or more.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools appropriately.

Education requirements include:

• Current high school student.
• 3.0 GPA or above.
• 2-weeks working/40-hour work week; 2-weeks attending school.

A professional, neat appearance is expected. A casual, outgoing personality is appreciated.

You must be able to pass a government CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK, DRUG SCREEN, have RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION and possess a VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE or STATE IDENTIFICATION.

Physical demands include standing, kneeling, crouching, stooping, using hands to handle or feel, and reaching with hands and arms. Frequent lifting and moving of materials weighing between 25 and 50 pounds is required.

This role may involve travel to project sites and exposure to a variety of environmental conditions. These may include outdoor weather, proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery, and the use of hand tools or hardware. Employees may be subject to frequent heavy lifting and other physical demands typical of a construction or warehouse environment.
