Accountable for welcoming and preparing the patient for their appointment, the Medical Assistant informs patients of relevant and required information for their visit and provides clear communication around the services they are scheduled to receive./ppHow You Will Get Things Done:/pulliPerforms point-of-care laboratory tests, EKGs as ordered or indicated, suture/staple removal, dressing changes, and other patient care activities/liliCollects and documents vital signs, histories, and screenings/liliAuthorizes prescription refills as directed/liliPrepares patients, room, and supplies for visits or examinations/liliPerforms phlebotomy and correctly processes specimens/liliCleans and maintains treatment rooms and equipment/liliOther duties as assigned/li/ulpHow You Will Build Trust:/pulliDemonstrates kindness and compassion in all patient interactions/liliPerforms quality controls and equipment checks./liliParticipate in brand marketing, rotating throughout the vestibule, with a focus on engaging and increasing patient volume./li/ulpHow You Will Innovate:/pulliPrepares and administers PO, IM, and ID medications as directed by the Provider, utilizing the Rights of Vaccine or Medication Administration/liliProvides instruction to the patient regarding medications and diet/li/ulpExperience to Drive Change:/pulliCertified Medical Assistant or eligible within 90 days of hire/lili1 year of experience preferred/liliPhlebotomy experience required/liliCurrent BLS certification for healthcare providers preferred; required within 90 days of employment/liliHigh School Diploma/Equivalency required/liliExperience in primary care, family practice, internal medicine, urgent care or ER preferred/li/ulh2Total Rewards at VillageMD/h2pOur team members are essential to our mission to reshape healthcare through the power of connection.
