Our organization’s Department of Neurosurgery is on the lookout for a General Neurosurgeon to become part of our team at Peconic Bay Medical Center located in Riverhead, NY . This position will be primarily based at Peconic Bay Medical Center, with collaborative support from our established Neurosurgery team at South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore, NY.

The perfect candidate will be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurological Surgery and must fulfill the medical licensure requirements for New York State. To effectively address the neurosurgical demands of our extensive 21-hospital system, the Department of Neurosurgery has established a strong full-time presence across its Eastern, Central, and Western Region hospitals, which include North Shore University Hospital, LIJ Medical Center, Lenox Hill Hospital, Huntington Hospital, South Shore University Hospital, Cohen Children's Hospital, and Staten Island University Hospital. To enhance efficiency, we have implemented an advanced Tele-Neuro ICU service that operates around the clock, along with a Neuro Center categorization system designed to assist physicians in appropriately triaging patients.

Established in 1951 as Central Suffolk Hospital, Peconic Bay Medical Center stands as the largest hospital in Eastern Suffolk County and serves as the Eastern Hub of our organization, the largest healthcare provider in New York State. As a non-profit community hospital with 144 beds, we are the primary source for advanced healthcare services for over 250,000 residents in the Riverhead area, Eastern Central Suffolk County, and Long Island's North Fork. Our facility features the only Interventional Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Suite in the service area, a Level III Trauma Center, and is designated as a Stroke Center by NYU.

The full-time clinical base salary at our organization ranges from $125K to $750K, influenced by various factors such as physician specialty, experience level, quality of care, academic achievements, patient satisfaction, and productivity.
