Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed Neurosurgery and Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery acute care unit
• Maintain a patient ratio of 1:4 in accordance with unit standards
• Work every other weekend and a minimum of 2 out of 3 winter holidays as required by unit scheduling
• Float within scope of practice as needed per facility float policy
• Document and manage patient information accurately using Epic EMR
• Perform and interpret NIHSS assessments as part of routine neurological patient care

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license (pending license accepted; must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Nursys verification required at time of submission
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN preferred
• Prior experience in a neurosurgery or otolaryngology acute care setting
• Experience with travel nursing assignments in a fast-paced hospital environment
