Job Details Job Location: Main - HOUMA, LA 70360 Position Type: 40 Hours Per Week Education Level: High School Degree / Equivalent Salary Range: $16.00 - $20.00 Hourly Travel Percentage: Up to 50% As Needed Job Shift: Monday-Friday 7:30A-6:15P Saturday 9A-12P Position Summary Synergy Bank is seeking a customer-focused and adaptable Floating Teller to provide exceptional service and operational support across our branch network. Unlike a traditional Teller position assigned to a single location, the Floating Teller serves as a flexible team member who may be scheduled to work at any of Synergy Bank's six branch locations between East Houma and Thibodaux based on staffing needs, employee absences, training requirements, or business demands. This position is ideal for candidates with previous customer service experience, leadership or supervisory experience, and/or an Associate Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field who are seeking a career in banking and financial services. The Floating Teller is responsible for accurately processing customer transactions, building positive customer relationships, promoting bank products and services, and quickly adapting to different branch environments. Key Responsibilities Customer Service & Relationship Building Deliver Synergy Bank's standard of excellence in customer service during every customer interaction. Build and maintain positive customer relationships through courteous, professional, and efficient service. Identify customer needs and promote applicable bank products and services that enhance the customer's banking experience. Answer customer inquiries in person and by telephone in accordance with Synergy Bank's service standards. Resolve routine customer concerns while maintaining a positive and welcoming banking environment. Transaction Processing & Account Services Accurately process deposits, withdrawals, transfers, payments, and other financial transactions. Receive cash and checks for deposit, verify amounts, examine endorsements, and enter transactions into applicable systems. Cash checks and process withdrawals after verifying customer identity, signatures, and account balances. Process ATM and night deposit transactions, loan payments, utility payments, IRA and HSA contributions, mail deposits, and other teller transactions. Prepare and verify official checks and other negotiable instruments. Place account holds in accordance with Regulation CC and bank procedures. Complete Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) accurately and within required timeframes. Compliance, Risk Management & Security Maintain the highest standards of honesty, integrity, confidentiality, and ethical conduct. Assist in protecting customers and the bank from fraud, counterfeit activity, elder financial exploitation, unfair, deceptive, or abusive practices, and other suspicious activities. Follow all bank policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and internal controls. Report suspicious activity, operational concerns, and equipment malfunctions promptly. Cash Handling & Operational Excellence Maintain an accurate cash drawer and balance throughout the day and at the end of each shift. Verify cash totals against system-generated proof sheets and report discrepancies immediately. Count currency and coin accurately while maintaining established balancing standards. Ensure teller stations remain organized, secure, and properly stocked with required forms and supplies. Assist other departments and team members as requested by management. Qualifications Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Proficiency in Microsoft Word and basic Excel skills. Strong customer service, communication, and relationship-building abilities. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to analyze information, make sound decisions, and solve problems effectively. Ability to remain calm, professional, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while providing exceptional service to customers. Basic knowledge of banking products and services or a willingness to learn. Professional appearance and conduct consistent with Synergy Bank standards. Travel & Work Location Flexibility Requirement Must be willing and able to work at any Synergy Bank branch location between East Houma and Thibodaux as assigned. Work schedules and branch assignments may vary based on staffing shortages, employee leave, training needs, business volume, and operational requirements.
