About the Role  

Joyce University is seeking a passionate and student-centered Adjunct Nursing Faculty member to join our Nursing team in a fully remote teaching environment. 

In this role, you will teach asynchronous nursing courses on a term-to-term basis while helping prepare the next generation of nurses and healthcare professionals. You’ll engage, mentor, and support students through meaningful online instruction that reflects both academic excellence and compassionate care.

What You’ll Do  

Create an Engaging, Student-Centered Learning Experience  

• Foster an inclusive, respectful, and supportive online classroom environment. 
• Interact with students fairly, professionally, and compassionately. 
• Support and assess student academic achievement and professional growth. 
• Encourage analytical thinking, participation, and meaningful discussion. 
• Motivate students to advance their education and nursing careers. 

Deliver High-Quality Online Instruction  

• Teach assigned RN-BSN and BSN asynchronous courses in alignment with course objectives and university standards. 
• Ensure courses are accurate, organized, and fully prepared before student engagement begins. 
• Present course content in ways that are engaging, accessible, and motivating. 
• Utilize effective instructional strategies and learning technologies. 
• Respond to student inquiries within 24 hours 
• Grade assignments within 72 hours of submission 
• Maintain an active faculty presence through announcements, discussion participation, and weekly course engagement 
• Hold at least one hour of virtual office hours each week. 
• Record and share weekly course overview videos to support student success. 

Support Academic Excellence & Collaboration  

• Adhere to university policies, academic standards, and faculty expectations. 
• Accurately maintain attendance, grades, and student records. 
• Communicate proactively with Student Services and academic leadership regarding student concerns or course-related issues. 
• Participate in faculty meetings, committee work, and university activities as needed. 
• Collaborate with colleagues across the university to support student outcomes and program excellence. 

Commit to Professional Growth  

• Stay actively engaged in the nursing profession through continuing education, professional organizations, conferences, and research. 
• Participate in faculty development and curriculum improvement initiatives. 
• Explore innovative teaching methods and share best practices with colleagues. 
• Pursue lifelong learning that strengthens both clinical expertise and instructional excellence.

What You Bring  

Required Qualifications  

• Unencumbered RN license 
• Master’s degree in Nursing or related field 
• Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience 
• Passion for teaching and student development 
• Strong written communication and organizational skills 
• Comfort with online learning platforms and virtual instruction 

Preferred Qualifications  

• Doctoral degree or other terminal professional degree 
• Previous online teaching experience 
• Experience teaching BSN or RN-BSN students

Compensation and Teaching Assignment Details:

Adjunct faculty positions at Joyce University are semester-based contract teaching opportunities designed to support a dynamic and student-centered learning experience. Compensation is determined based on several factors, including academic credentials, professional and teaching experience, course assignment, credit hours, and instructional delivery format. Teaching assignments and compensation are finalized throughout the hiring process based on candidate qualifications, instructional strengths, course availability, and departmental needs.
