The full-time Audiologist position at BILH involves diagnostic assessment of hearing loss and rehabilitation options for patients.

Candidates must have a Master's degree in Audiology and at least one year of clinical experience in a medical-otologic setting.

The role requires the Audiologist to perform various assessments and collaborate with nursing staff to provide exceptional patient care.

The pay range for this position is between $85,446.40 and $119,641.60 USD annually.

Job Description: The Audiologist is responsible for diagnostic assessment of hearing loss and hearing rehabilitation options. Using clinical judgment select and implement most appropriate evaluation methods for diverse patient needs. Determine if the patient is a hearing aid candidate or would benefit from assistive listening devices. Provide care to patients with implantable hearing technologies including cochlear implants, BAHA and Esteem implants. Obtain telemetry measures in operating room for cochlear implant procedures. Perform and interpret electrophysiologic assessment including VEMP, EcochG and ABR. Work collaboratively with Otolaryngology nursing staff to provide excellent patient care. Review abnormal test results with referring physician. Document all pertinent information in aChart (audiology) TIMS office based system (hearing aid center).

Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:

• Performs Diagnostic assessment of hearing loss and hearing rehabilitation options
• Exercises clinical judgment in selecting and implementing most appropriate evaluation methods for diverse patient needs
• Greets patients, identify oneself as an audiologist and explains hearing and balance testing
• Reviews results and recommendations to patient regarding diagnostic tests and rehabilitative options
• Determines if the patient is a hearing aid candidate or would benefit from assistive listening devices
• Selects appropriate hearing aid device for patient based on audiologic test results.
• Provides quality ear mold impressions for hearing aids, swim plugs and custom noise protection.
• Provides appropriate programming of selected amplification device.
• Provides care to patients with implantable hearing technologies including cochlear implants, BAHA and Esteem implants
• Performs and interprets electrophysiologic assessment including VEMP, EcochG and ABR
• Obtains telemetry measures in operating room for cochlear implant procedures
• Works collaboratively with Otolaryngology nursing staff to provide excellent patient care.
• Reviews abnormal test results with referring physician
• Provides written educational material and reviews with patient/family
• Provides occasional cross coverage at all audiology sites, including Burlington, Peabody and Lexington.
• Provides patient with written and verbal instructions regarding battery use, care and maintenance of the hearing aid.
• Troubleshoots repairs devices if possible.
• Determines if hearing aid needs to be returned to manufacturer for repair.
• Addresses any issues or concerns the patient or family member may have regarding their hearing aids
• Incorporates Lahey Clinic Guiding Principles, Mission Statement and Goals into daily activities.
• Complies with all Lahey Clinic Policies.
• Complies with behavioral expectations of the department and Lahey Clinic.
• Maintains courteous and effective interactions with colleagues and patients.
• Demonstrates an understanding of the job description, performance expectations, and competency assessment.
• Demonstrates a commitment toward meeting and exceeding the needs of our customers and consistently adheres to Customer Service standards.
• Participates in departmental and/or interdepartmental quality improvement activities.
• Participates in and successfully completes Mandatory Education.
• Performs all other duties as needed or directed to meet the needs of the department.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Masters degree in Audiology
• Licensure, Certification, Registration: Licensure in Audiology by state of Massachusetts
• Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Excellent verbal skills. Excellent patient centric skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
• Experience: Minimum of one year clinical experience in medical - otologic setting. 4th year clinical doctorate placement accepted as one year of clinical experience.

The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
