Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Brilliant Mind Psychological Services, your day-to-day duties will include:

• Conducting initial assessments to determine clients’ mental health status and therapy needs.
• Developing personalized treatment plans that incorporate individual goals and evidence-based practices.
• Providing individual and group therapy sessions to clients, employing various therapeutic modalities tailored to their unique presentations.
• Regularly reviewing client progress and adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure effective outcomes.
• Collaborating with other professionals, including psychiatrists and social workers, to enable a comprehensive approach to client care.
• Documenting sessions and client interactions in accordance with organizational policies and confidentiality requirements.
• Participating in ongoing training and supervision to stay current with best practices in mental health counseling.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse client population, including individuals experiencing a range of mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and substance abuse. Your ability to foster trust and rapport with clients from various backgrounds will be paramount in helping them navigate their unique challenges and achieve lasting positive changes.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following qualifications:

• A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• A current and valid license, such as LMFT, LMHC, or LCSW, in the state of New York.
• A minimum of two years of related clinical experience in mental health counseling.

• A deep understanding of mental health disorders, treatment modalities, and cultural competence within therapy.
• Demonstrated experience in leading both individual and group therapy sessions employing culturally responsive techniques.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and general computer applications.

Compensation and Benefits
