Specialty Benefits is comprised of Dental, Vision and several other products. This role will support the Legacy Dental and Vision business within Specialty that has nearly $5B in annual revenue and will combine month-end close support with analytics to ensure financial accuracy & compliance.You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.Primary Responsibilities:Oversee our legacy vision block of business. Work with other members of the team to develop monthly revenue estimates and communicate those results to Specialty Benefits leadership while addressing material variances to prior month, forecast, etc.Analyze commercial, private label, Medicaid and Medicare premium and administrative service revenues to ensure activity correctly reflected in the general ledgerSupport MLR reporting by compiling financials in state specified formatsPrepare and present financial summary and related analytics of assigned legal entity to leadership/regulatory teams and manage ad-hoc reporting requestsSupport month-end close process as it relates to assigned area of responsibility ensuring timely and accurate reporting of all related revenuesRegularly work with other accounting teams, account managers, underwriters and billing analysts to develop a deep understanding of the dental and vision product offeringsEnsure all revenues, claims and membership are aligned on a customer-by-customer basisPrepare or approve assigned GL account reconciliationsAssesses and interprets customer needs and requirementsIdentifies solutions to non-standard requests and problemsSolve moderately complex problems and/or conduct moderately complex analysesCoach, provide feedback, and guide othersYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance or business-related field3+ years of work experience in accounting, finance or reportingSolid understanding and practical application of U.S. GAAPProficient in Microsoft ExcelPreferred Qualifications:Public accounting experienceExperience with Hyperion Smartview/Essbase, Peoplesoft, BlacklineSQL and/or SAS skills and experience working with large databasesProven independent, downstream thinker and problem solverProven excellent communication skillsPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
