Senior Cost Accountant

Position Summary Review and analyze standard and actual costs for manufacturing variances and prepare reports Liaise with the production teams on a regular basis, reviewing significant job cost variances for root cause identification, and ultimately counter measure actions Providing financial support for cost improvement projects, tracking and reporting Analyze purchase price variance, preparing reports for Supply Chain with improvement opportunity recommendation Partner with the quoting team, participating in special projects, product cost and profitability analysis, and in the preparation of quote packages as necessary Provide margin analysis reviews on newly introduced products, highlighting actual vs. quoted margin gaps Prepare reports comparing actual vs budgeted operational costs and track any reduction actions Analyze inventory trends and future projections to assist in reducing balance sheet risk Maintain productivity reporting and collaborate with Operations on errors and inefficiencies Work on special projects as required Principle Responsibilities Review and analyze standard and actual costs for manufacturing variances and prepare reports Liaise with the production teams on a regular basis, reviewing significant job cost variances for root cause identification, and ultimately counter measure actions Providing financial support for cost improvement projects, tracking and reporting Analyze purchase price variance, preparing reports for Supply Chain with improvement opportunity recommendation Partner with the quoting team, participating in special projects, product cost and profitability analysis, and in the preparation of quote packages as necessary Provide margin analysis reviews on newly introduced products, highlighting actual vs. quoted margin gaps Prepare reports comparing actual vs budgeted operational costs and track any reduction actions Analyze inventory trends and future projections to assist in reducing balance sheet risk Maintain productivity reporting and collaborate with Operations on errors and inefficiencies Work on special projects as required Qualification Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or similar and three (3) to five (5) years in manufacturing cost accounting experience is preferred. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Proficiency in Excel, experience in manipulating large databases a plus Significant hands‑on experience using an integrated ERP system Solid understanding of manufacturing operations, inventory and cost accounting Understanding of U.S. GAAP as it applies to a manufacturing environment is required Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. Extraordinary interpersonal skills to work in conjunction with other departments. Must be a team player who also works well independently. Must be able to analyze data, draw conclusions, interpret results, and make recommendations.
