Fabrication/Sheet Metal Technician

The Sheet Metal Technician is responsible for producing metal roofing panels and components used in pre-engineered steel building systems. This role operates specialized sheet metal machinery to cut, form, and prepare roofing materials to precise specifications.Working in the shop alongside Metal Fabrication & Assembly Technicians, this position focuses specifically on roofing production using dedicated equipment. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in accuracy, efficiency, and quality workmanship.Operate roll forming and sheet metal machines to produce roofing panels and componentsMeasure, cut, and form sheet metal materials to exact specificationsRead and follow work orders, prints, and production schedulesInspect finished products to ensure quality and consistencyWork closely with fabrication and assembly teams to support production flowHandle and stage materials to prevent damage and maintain organizationPerform basic equipment checks and assist with routine maintenanceExperience in manufacturing, sheet metal, or steel production environmentsAbility to read a tape measure and follow production specificationsStrong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with machineryAttention to detail and commitment to producing quality workOverhead crane operation experience is helpfulBackground in metal roofing or building materials manufacturingForklift experience or certificationFamiliarity with OSHA safety standards in a manufacturing settingStable, full-time work in a growing steel manufacturing environmentOpportunity to learn specialized equipment and advance your skill setTeam-oriented culture with a focus on safety and qualityJoin a team that takes pride in building quality products and supporting each other on the shop floor.
