Description: L&D RN working three 12-hour night shifts. Two years of experience required for first-time applicants. Candidates will be screened based on experience but are welcome to apply. Patient age group includes neonates to adults. Weekend coverage required every other week. The unit is a 15-bed Labor and Delivery department that follows inpatient rooming with infants. All infants will stay in rooms with mothers, with a newborn nursery available for infants needing additional care. Skills required include amnioinfusion, antepartum care, and assisting with vaginal deliveries. Candidates should be knowledgeable in breastfeeding support and care for multiple births, as well as postpartum hemorrhage management. Familiarity with epidural anesthesia, forceps/vacuum extractions, and general anesthesia is beneficial. Knowledge of nitrous oxide use and non-stress tests is expected. The unit will have interdisciplinary support from various services including physical therapy and respiratory services. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns and manage labor and delivery effectively.
