Senior Accountant

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accountant to manage the month-end close process for assigned business entities. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and delivering clear variance analysis to leadership within tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities

• Execute timely and accurate journal entries prior to general ledger close in accordance with corporate closing schedules
• Ensure financial statements are presented to management in compliance with GAAP, supported by comprehensive financial variance analysis
• Drive financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting initiatives
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and month-end schedules, ensuring prompt research and resolution of any discrepancies
• Prepare and review quarterly reporting schedules for internal and external stakeholders
• Assist management with special projects, ad-hoc reporting, and departmental deliverables

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a month-end close environment, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting, and variance reporting
• Strong technical proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel skills (functions, formulas, pivot tables, and linked spreadsheets)
• Prior experience with PeopleSoft is considered a strong plus
• Exceptional organizational skills, initiative, and the ability to thrive and multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented atmosphere
• Clear communication skills with the ability to work independently, collaborate with peers, and help develop junior staff
