Director OF Operations

A leading employee-owned general contractor is seeking a Director of Operations to oversee the successful delivery of complex commercial construction projects throughout the Seattle region. The organization is recognized for its collaborative culture and commitment to safety, sustainability, innovation, client satisfaction, and community partnerships. This leader will guide multiple project teams, strengthen operational consistency, and ensure projects achieve their safety, quality, schedule, financial, and client-service objectives. Key Responsibilities Provide operational oversight across multiple projects from preconstruction through closeout. Lead, mentor, and develop Project Executives, Project Managers, Superintendents, and project support teams. Monitor project financials, forecasts, schedules, staffing, risk, and overall performance. Partner with preconstruction and field leadership to establish effective project strategies. Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. Develop trusted relationships with clients, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and community partners. Ensure consistent implementation of company policies, operational standards, and project controls. Support business development, project pursuits, contract reviews, and resource planning. Identify project risks early and guide teams in developing effective mitigation strategies. Qualifications 12+ years of progressive commercial construction experience, including senior operational leadership. Proven success overseeing multiple complex projects and multidisciplinary teams. Experience delivering projects in sectors such as life sciences, healthcare, technology, education, or advanced commercial construction preferred. Strong knowledge of preconstruction, contracts, scheduling, project controls, financial forecasting, and risk management. Established relationships and market knowledge within Seattle and the Pacific Northwest are highly desirable. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline preferred.
