Labor & Delivery Nurse – Postpartum / Newborn Care

Title: Labor & Delivery Nurse – Postpartum / Newborn Care

Requirements:

• Active RN license in California
• ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP certifications
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, or Newborn care
• Experience with a patient ratio of 1:3
• Proficient in Epic charting system

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide care during labor, delivery, and postpartum phases for patients and newborns.
• Assist in circulating for cesarean sections and support vaginal deliveries.
• Monitor fetal well-being through external and internal fetal monitoring techniques.
• Manage postpartum care, including assessment of patients and newborns.
• Support breastfeeding and lactation as needed.
• Conduct triage for obstetrical patients and perform sterile vaginal exams.

Compliance / Notes:

• Must be willing to work weekends and two of three major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year).
• Orientation is required (40 hours).
• Travelers may float to other units as needed.
