This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

Help

  • Assists in developing and disseminating written, audio, and visual communication products for dissemination through print and electronic media.
  • Serves as command representative in the community to include the local Fort Bragg communities, veteran/military service organizations, academia to inform them about the Army generally and Army Special Operations specifically
  • Coordinates with other staff sections to provide proactive support to command-wide planning and operational efforts.
  • Assists with research, develops and staffs responses to routine media queries, and assists in coordinating long-term media projects such as book, movie, or documentary requests

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • TDY travel is required 10% of the time.
  • One-year probationary period may be required.
  • Must obtain and maintain the requirements for each Cyber work role at the assigned proficiency level.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • Position requires employee to perform after-hours duty as on-call PAO, requiring the employee to carry a mobile communication device and be available to report to duty within one hour of being notified, as determined by the director.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: O ne year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Developed and disseminated written, visual, and multimedia communication products to support command information objectives, managed official social media platforms, assisted with communication plans, and recommended communication methods to effectively inform internal and external audiences about organizational missions and programs, 2) Supported media relations by researching and preparing press releases, media responses, public affairs guidance, and senior leader briefing materials; coordinating media requests; reviewing content for operational security and policy compliance 3) Represented the command during community engagement activities by coordinating special events, supporting outreach initiatives with military, government, academic, and community organizations, and assisting subordinate units in developing communication strategies that aligned with command priorities, and 4) Collaborated with command staff to develop public affairs plans, communication guidance, taskers, and planning documents.

Master's or equivalent graduate degree

or

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.B. or J.D., if related
