If you are looking to join a great organization and a chance to become a part of our growing team, this may be the opportunity for you!Position Summary:The Assistant Plant Manager partners closely with production, maintenance, engineering, quality, and distribution teams to drive operational excellence, improve efficiency, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This position plays a key leadership role in developing team members, strengthening Service Wire's safety-first culture, and supporting plant-wide performance goals.Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities:Promote a safety-first culture by leading by example and ensuring safe work practices across all departmentsEnsure compliance with company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and industry standardsParticipate in safety audits, incident investigations, and corrective action implementationEnsure plant maintains a clean, organized, and safe working environmentMaintain active role on internal continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and cost performanceAssist the Plant Manager in overseeing daily manufacturing operations to meet Safety, Quality, Delivery (OTD), and Cost objectivesCoordinate production activities to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of manufacturing schedulesMonitor production performance and implement improvements to increase productivity and reduce downtimeWork closely with maintenance and engineering teams to resolve operational issues and maximize equipment uptimeSupport implementation of standard operating procedures and best practices across manufacturing processesAssist with capital projects, equipment installations, and process improvementsSupport warehouse, shipping, and receiving operations to ensure timely delivery and inventory accuracyCoordinate with supply chain and procurement teams to align production schedules with material availabilityHelp improve order fulfillment processes and on-time delivery performanceSupport production planning and prioritization to meet customer demandsProvide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to supervisors, operators, and plant personnelPromote employee engagement and teamwork across manufacturing and distribution functionsAssist with hiring, onboarding, training, and performance managementCommunicate Service Wire goals, expectations, and performance metrics to team membersFoster a positive, collaborative, and accountable work environmentIdentify opportunities to reduce waste and improve operational efficiencyParticipate in production meetings and review key performance indicatorsSupport quality management systems and ensure compliance with quality standardsMaintain accurate documentation and reporting related to plant operationsCollaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, purchasing, and engineeringOther duties as assignedKnowledge/Skills/Requirements:High School Diploma or GED required, associate or bachelor's degree in engineering, business or related field preferred5+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing, production, or industrial environmentExperience in continuous improvement processes or manufacturing plant operationsStrong team development skillsKnowledge of safety regulations and operational best practicesStrong problem-solving and decision-making skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentIn-person attendance is requiredMay require occasional extended hours based on business needsReports To: Plant ManagerThe perks of joining our TeamComprehensive Insurance Options - Competitive medical coverage with a variety of plan choicesProgressive PTO & Paid Holidays - Tenure-based paid time off plus eight paid holidays annually401(k) with Company Match + Profit Sharing - Matching 5% on 6% of employee contributions and annual profit-sharing contributionsCareer Growth & Learning Support - Tuition reimbursement and employee assistance programsTuition reimbursement up to $15,000 annually to support your continued education and career growthReferral Bonus Program - Employee referral bonuses paid out over the new hire's first year
