Acute Care Medicine Registered Nurse - Weekend Option - Days

Overview Acute Care Medicine Registered Nurses provide high-quality care for patients experiencing acute medical conditions, working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver timely and effective treatment. The unit is led by a clinical manager and a charge nurse; the care team includes an advanced practice nurse, case manager, social worker, physical therapist, dietitian, and pharmacist. Role Purpose Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the standards of nursing care. Responsibilities Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment and educates patients and families on post‑treatment home care and medication administration. Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance, and professional development. Develops, implements and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team and with patients, families or caregivers, ensuring communication of the plan across the continuum of care. Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, including patient preferences, barriers, values, spiritual, cultural and population‑specific needs. Maintains continuous state of alertness and safe performance as a safety‑sensitive position.
