SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the Human Resources Director, the Corporate Trainer is responsible for producing a more efficient and effective workforce by creating and conducting training programs.

It is the primary purpose of CHC to provide the highest quality of total care possible to the patient population it serves. Such a level of quality depends ultimately on the staff's desire and ability to work together, individually, and as a team. The employee is expected to be professional, punctual, maintain regular attendance, cooperative, motivated, and organized at all times.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Additional duties may be assigned with or without prior notice.

Develops, plans, organizes, and effectively conducts employee training on various systems, skills, policies, and compliance areas.

Knowledge expert in front and back office workflows, including provider workflows.

Researches and identifies areas in which training is required and/or beneficial by position with a multi-disciplinary team who are the stakeholders.

Evaluates and modifies existing or proposed programs for effectiveness; suggests and implements suitable changes. Conducts training need analysis as needed.

Designs, drafts, and/or acquires new training materials including procedure workflow cheat sheets, reference guides, competencies, training agendas, PowerPoint presentations, and other handouts.

Collaborates with outside consultants, managers, and subject matter experts to deliver training.

Facilitates delivery of training by reserving and setting up needed equipment and training rooms; scheduling training times with attendees; preparing and distributing training materials such as handouts; food orders and pick up for trainings; and other related tasks.

Maintains current knowledge of new hire training techniques and developments. Maintains up to date knowledge of Athena and Next Gen systems to ensure they are content experts.

Maintains good working relationships and open communication with Regional Operations Managers and Health Center Managers.

Provides feedback on all trainees.

Provides feedback documentation after site visits.

Schedules and maintains all training activities on the CHC Training Calendar.

Trains clinical staff and providers in all aspects of the NextGen and Athena systems.

Assists with preparations for go-lives and system updates.

Assist with updating and maintaining competency documents as needed in collaboration with HR and department managers.

Responsible for conducting and coordinating New Hire Training.

Provide support for new providers, locums, and new staff at the clinic site.

Provides on-site training and support based on need and upon request from management.

Demonstrates professionalism when calling patients and provides quality customer service using AIDET Standards.

Ability to work with high volume of patients, internal/external customers, and deal with frequent changes, delay or unexpected events.

Demonstrates adherence to and observes all safety policies and procedures.

Demonstrates knowledge of domestic violence, child and dependent abuse protocols.

Demonstrates cultural sensitivity and competence with patients.

Maintains and adheres to HIPAA, employee confidentiality, and privileged communications (patient, employee, and corporation).

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelors Degree in Business or Healthcare, preferred. High School diploma or GED equivalent, required.

Two years of experience in a Community Health Center. And, two years of experience in a Practice Management/Electronic Health Record System preferably in Athena and NextGen.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong presentation skills and ability to speak effectively before groups employees of organization. Ability to speak confidently and articulate thoughts clearly and logically when training. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and policy and procedure manuals. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquires or complaints. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply sound judgment in understanding to carry out instructions in written or oral form. Ability to make appropriate job decisions following standard office policies and past precedents.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Extremely proficient with word processing, spreadsheets, email, and keyboarding required. Microsoft Office and Google Suite skills required. Superuser of PM/EHR in Athena and NextGen.

Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Possession of current, valid, unrestricted California Driver's License (Class C) required.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Required to pass a criminal history background check and drug screen upon hire.

Fitness for Duty (Annual health examination clearance); annual Tuberculosis skin test clearance or chest x-ray; proof of immunity to required immunizations: MMR, Varicella, and Hepatitis B; proof of Tdap vaccine; during current flu season, must provide proof of influenza vaccine or a signed declination form. If declined, a flu mask is mandatory during flu season.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is moderate (i.e. call center setting with computers, phones, and printers). Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be willing to work in a clinical environment to provide onsite support to employees.

Must be willing to have a flexible work schedule that may include evenings/weekends, and travel as needed.
