Tool Room Machinist

We are searching for a new member to join our Thunderbird Molding Team in Greensboro, NC. The tool room tech/machinist will be experienced and understand the tooling manufacturing position and must have basic knowledge of machining related to plastics/injection molding. Essential Functions Be able to use all types of tooling and gauges. Be able to operate manual equipment. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Perform basic machining to work in the tool manufacturing field safely. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed. Required Experience Apprenticeship or vocational training preferred. Basic knowledge of all types of tooling and gauges. Experience with machine tools or mechanical assembly. Should be capable of reading micrometers, telescoping gauges, calipers, comparator, indicators, etc. Good problem‑solving skills, safety practices and attention to quality. 5+ years experience in injection molding. Basic workbench skills. Proficiency in manual machining skills. Physical Demands and Work Environment The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts. Frequently required lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds. Frequently required standing, bending, squatting, and reaching with hands and arms. Regularly required to stand for extended periods, walk, talk, and hear. Ability to use hand tools. Ability to read applicable instructions. Benefits 401(k) with matching program.
