Registered Nurse – PACU

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 5x8 Hours (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

Provide pre-operative, Phase I, and Phase II recovery care to both adult and pediatric patients across a high-volume surgical environment spanning multiple floors and operating rooms
Support all major surgical services including endoscopy, interventional radiology, pulmonary lab, and CT/MRI procedural cases
Administer and monitor care for patients receiving regional anesthesia and ECT procedures
Utilize specialized equipment including Hoyer lift, bladder scanner, and AccuVein as needed
Float to pediatric PACU as needed to support unit staffing demands
Maintain a 1:2 patient ratio and adhere to all unit protocols and emergency staffing expectations

Required Qualifications

Active RN license – Compact or Louisiana license required and must be in hand at time of submittal
Minimum 2 years of experience in PACU specialty
Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications (AHA required)
Proficiency with Epic EMR
Ability to care for patients of all ages including pediatric populations in pre-op and all phases of recovery
Willingness to participate in emergency team assignments as directed by unit management

Preferred Experience / Skills

Background specifically in PACU or Pre/Post Op nursing
Experience with regional anesthesia monitoring and post-procedure recovery
Familiarity with high-volume, multi-OR surgical environments serving diverse patient populations
