As a Security Officer Armed Front Desk in Roanoke, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal at a government location as an armed Front Desk professional, serving as a welcoming first point of contact while helping to monitor access, verify credentials, and support security-related procedures. This stationary role blends customer service, communication, and professionalism with a caring, agile, and reliable team that puts people first and acts with integrity every day.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a government office front desk location.
• Monitor the front desk area, greet visitors, verify identification and/or credentials, and direct authorized guests, employees, and vendors in accordance with site access procedures.
• Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or emergency personnel as needed.
• Maintain accurate visitor logs, access records, and other required documentation, and report security-related concerns, policy violations, and/or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Answer questions, assist with badge and entry procedures, and help to deter unauthorized access through consistent front desk presence and attention to site-specific protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

• An armed guard card or license is required.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
