Part-Time Montessori Certified Teacher: Ages 32 Months to 5 Years

Pay : $25–$32 per hour, based on credentials and experience

Edgcumbe Montessori and Daycare is seeking a dependable, Montessori-certified teacher for our mixed-age classroom serving children from 32 months through 5 years old . The teacher will provide age-appropriate Montessori lessons while maintaining a calm, organized, safe, and engaging classroom environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain an organized Montessori learning environment.
• Present age-appropriate Montessori lessons and materials.
• Support learning in practical life, sensorial development, language, mathematics, culture, and movement.
• Observe children and document developmental progress.
• Maintain active supervision and follow all health, safety, and licensing requirements.
• Use respectful, developmentally appropriate classroom guidance.
• Communicate professionally with families, assistants, and center leadership.
• Help maintain classroom materials, cleanliness, and daily routines.
• Support the developmental, behavioral, hygiene, and toileting needs of children ranging from 32 months through 5 years old.
  

Required Qualifications

• Montessori credential or certification appropriate to the assigned classroom age group from AMI, AMS, a MACTE-accredited program, or an equivalent recognized Montessori training program.
• Ability to meet Minnesota child care center teacher qualifications.
• Previous experience working in a Montessori or early-childhood classroom.
• Ability to pass the required background study.
• Dependability and reliable availability every Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to noon.
• Strong communication, classroom-management, and organizational skills.
• Montessori Early Childhood/Primary credential or certification appropriate for children approximately 21⁄2 through 6 years old.

Preferred Qualifications

• Early Childhood/Primary Montessori credential.
• Current pediatric CPR and first-aid certification.
• Experience working with preschool-aged children in a licensed child care center.
• Familiarity with Minnesota child care licensing requirements.
