CO-LAB
ABOUT coLAB coLAB, Inc. is a technology company developing strategic intelligence software for the nonprofit and social impact sector. The company has developed VERVE , an AI-powered SaaS platform that gives nonprofit leadership teams access to strategic planning and organizational intelligence through an affordable annual subscription. VERVE is built on more than a decade of proprietary nonprofit consulting methodology developed through direct work with executives and boards across strategy, governance, fundraising, organizational performance, and long-term sustainability. The platform helps organizations assess organizational health, identify strategic priorities, strengthen governance, develop implementation plans, and continuously measure progress. coLAB has already completed its initial beta pilot, with 8 of 9 participating organizations converting to paying customers . The platform is live, customers are paying, and the company is now focused on expanding commercial adoption and building VERVE into the strategic operating system for nonprofit leadership . THE BOARD OPPORTUNITY coLAB is looking to add a limited number of experienced Board Members as the company moves from early commercial validation into its next stage of growth. We are looking for senior executives, founders, investors, and experienced board leaders who can contribute informed judgment, relevant relationships, and ownership alignment. Board Members are expected to contribute at a strategic level around major areas affecting the development of the company, including: Commercial growth and SaaS scale Customer acquisition and go-to-market Distribution and strategic partnerships AI and product strategy Organizational growth and capital strategy This is not an operating position. The role is intended for individuals who can bring senior-level perspective to management while remaining closely aligned with the long-term growth of the business. COMMERCIAL MARKET AND SOCIAL IMPACT coLAB serves the nonprofit and social impact sector, but the underlying market is substantial. The U.S. nonprofit sector contributes more than $1.5 trillion annually to the economy and employs more than 12.5 million people . More than 97% of nonprofit organizations operate with annual budgets below $5 million , leaving a large segment of the market underserved by traditional consulting firms and enterprise software providers creating a substantial moat for this business model. VERVE addresses that market through a recurring-revenue SaaS model. The commercial and social impact cases are closely connected. Nonprofit organizations make major decisions around funding, staffing, governance, programs, and community outcomes. Better strategic infrastructure can help those organizations make stronger decisions and use their resources more effectively. coLAB is building a scalable commercial software business around that need. WHY coLAB The company already has: More than a decade of nonprofit strategy and organizational experience A live AI-powered SaaS product Proprietary nonprofit strategy methodology A completed beta pilot 8 of 9 pilot organizations converted to paying customers Established annual subscription pricing Early commercial validation A large underserved customer market The focus is now on increasing adoption, expanding distribution, growing recurring revenue, continuing product development, and building the organization required to support scale. ROLE OF BOARD MEMBERS Board Members may contribute across one or more of five areas: Commercial Growth & SaaS Scale Providing experience around recurring revenue, pricing, customer economics, customer success, market expansion, and commercial discipline. Customer Acquisition & Go-to-Market Supporting sales strategy, customer segmentation, demand generation, positioning, enterprise selling, and repeatable customer acquisition. Distribution & Strategic Partnerships Helping establish relationships with foundations, nonprofit networks, associations, channel partners, corporations, and other organizations capable of expanding VERVE's reach. AI & Product Strategy Providing perspective around AI development, product roadmap, data strategy, user experience, security, and platform scalability. Organizational Growth & Capital Strategy Contributing experience around governance, leadership structure, talent, financing strategy, investor relationships, and long-term company development. coLAB is looking to build a Board where individual members bring specific experience and relationships relevant to the company's growth priorities. OWNERSHIP AND INVESTMENT ALIGNMENT The role is designed for candidates who view governance involvement and long-term equity alignment as interconnected priorities. Board involvement centers on high-level guidance, offering opportunities for capital and ownership integration when expectations match. This is not a cash-compensated position. IDEAL PROFILE We are looking for individuals with 10+ years of senior executive, founder, board, or investment experience , particularly across: SaaS and enterprise technology Artificial intelligence and data Technology commercialization Sales and go-to-market Strategic partnerships and distribution Strategy and consulting Nonprofit leadership Philanthropy and foundations Social impact Venture capital, private equity, or principal investing Corporate governance We are particularly interested in individuals who: Have previously served on a Board or in a senior governance role Have helped companies scale Understand recurring-revenue businesses Bring relevant commercial, institutional, or nonprofit relationships Understand technology commercialization Have previously invested in private companies Can contribute strategically beyond capital WHY NOW VERVE is already live, the beta has been completed, and paying customers are using the product. The company has moved beyond initial product validation and is now focused on customer acquisition, recurring revenue growth, distribution, partnerships, continued product development, and organizational scale. This is the point where experienced Board Members can contribute directly to the decisions that will shape the company's next stage of growth. EQUAL OPPORTUNITY coLAB welcomes candidates from a wide range of professional and industry backgrounds. The company believes different perspectives and experiences strengthen governance, strategic decision-making, and long-term company development.
