The Housing Navigator plays a crucial role in supporting low-income renters, individuals experiencing homelessness, and families in transitional housing across SMACC counties including Scott, Carver, Dakota, Washington, and Anoka. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the Navigator builds and maintains strong relationships with landlords and clients, facilitates housing searches and applications, and ensures clear communication to promote successful, stable housing outcomes. This position requires proficiency in Microsoft Office, a valid driver’s license, and a proactive, self-starting approach.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with landlords across SMACC counties
• Assist clients with housing searches and application processes
• Communicate program requirements, timelines, and housing opportunities clearly to clients
• Advocate for clients and problem-solve barriers to housing
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in ClientTrack and other software
• Coordinate and attend appointments with clients
• Facilitate respectful, honest, and transparent communication between clients and providers
• Support clients in meeting their responsibilities such as notifying income or household changes

Preferred Qualifications

• Entry-level experience in housing navigation
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license with regular local travel ability
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Effective time management and organizational skills
• Ability to build and sustain positive relationships
