Patient Access Representative

In this vital role, you will be the main point of contact for patient families—securing critical information to register, schedule, and obtain prior authorizations for surgical, inpatient, outpatient, and diagnostic services. Working a predictable Monday through Friday daytime schedule (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM), you will verify insurance eligibility, navigate managed care plans, and collaborate closely with clinical departments to ensure patients gain seamless access to care. If you bring strong healthcare data entry experience, knowledge of insurance benefits, and a passion for supporting patient families, this contract position offers an outstanding platform to apply and grow your skills.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Register, schedule, and obtain insurance authorizations for surgical, inpatient, and outpatient services while verifying insurance benefits and maintaining accurate patient accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Register and schedule patients for surgical, outpatient, and diagnostic appointments.

• Perform insurance eligibility verifications and obtain required prior authorizations.

• Enter detailed patient demographic, billing, and clinical data into system records.

• Communicate with funding sources, managed care plans, and patient families to coordinate care.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• 2+ years of work experience in a healthcare setting.

• 1+ years of experience with data entry functions.

• 1+ years of experience with insurance eligibility verification, benefits, and prior authorizations.

• Mandatory: Up-to-date Seasonal Flu Vaccination.

• Preferred: Surgical/treatment scheduling experience, EPIC knowledge, and Spanish/English bilingual skills.
