Shipping and Receiving Specialist

Job Type: Full-Time Department: Warehouse / Operations Schedule: Monday-Friday (Overtime as needed) Position Summary The Shipping/Receiving Clerk I is responsible for receiving, inspecting, storing, and shipping materials, products, and inventory in a warehouse or manufacturing environment. This entry-level position supports daily logistics operations by ensuring accurate inventory transactions, timely shipments, and compliance with safety procedures. Receive incoming shipments and verify quantities against packing slips and purchase orders. Inspect incoming materials for damage and report discrepancies. Prepare outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, and documentation. Load and unload materials using pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment. Accurately enter shipping and receiving transactions into inventory systems. Organize and maintain warehouse inventory and storage areas. Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory audits. Coordinate with internal departments regarding material availability and shipment status. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow company safety policies and procedures at all times. Perform other warehouse and logistics duties as assigned. Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook and Excel. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods. Preferred Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, or inventory experience. Experience using ERP or inventory management systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.). Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
