Infusion RN Sr-San Antonio, Tx

Overview Texas Oncology is looking for an Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at our San Antonio, Tx location. This is a full-time Monday to Friday 10-hour shift with 1 day off during the week. The RN provides professional nursing care for patients, prepares and administers therapies, manages venous access, and documents patient care in accordance with national and company standards. Responsibilities Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices. Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and instructional material. Prepare and administer therapies under physician supervision. Administer all medications and blood products using correct dosage, route, time and technique. Ensure pre-authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to therapy administration where applicable. Facilitate dose modification by assessing patient, labs, consulting protocols or treatment plans, calculating dose, and consulting physician regarding dosage modifications, problems and symptom management. Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central line catheter devices. Maintain accurate documentation of assigned patient care and treatments provided. Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture. Qualifications Graduate from an accredited professional nursing program; BSN preferred. Minimum 0–3 years of RN experience. Willing to consider entry, mid, or senior level candidate. Current RN state license in practicing state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Working Conditions Possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment. Physical Requirements Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
