Internist / Nursing Home Physician – Bronx, NY

Location: Bronx, NY
Employment Type: Full-time or Part-time (minimum 3 days/week)
Salary: $190,000 – $240,000/year, plus bonuses

Qualifications:

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Active New York State medical license (required).
• Board Certified or Board Eligible.
• Residents and fellows are welcome to apply.
• Proficiency in geriatric medicine, chronic disease management, and electronic health records.
• Excellent bedside manner, strong communication, empathy, and the ability to work effectively with elderly patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Consult with patients to understand their symptoms and health concerns.
• Diagnose and treat acute illnesses (bacterial and viral infections) and chronic conditions such as hypertension, heart disease, and diabetes.
• Prescribe or administer medication, therapy, and other specialized care to treat or prevent illness.
• Explain procedures and discuss test results and prescribed treatments with patients.
• Monitor patients' conditions and progress, and re-evaluate treatments as necessary.
• Provide health and wellness advice, including diet, physical activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.
• Immunize patients against preventable diseases.
• Maintain detailed notes of patient appointments, including tests, treatments, and results.
• Refer patients to other medical specialists when necessary.
• Provide support and advice to patients receiving long-term care.
• Prepare official health documents or records as needed.
• Contribute to research on new treatments and methods to prevent or control illness.
