Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to provide direct and indirect patient care within a dynamic Emergency Department in Clinton, Illinois. This role is critical in managing a diverse patient population presenting with acute illnesses, injuries, and emergent conditions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for comprehensive patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care. This includes collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes, efficient department flow, and adherence to professional nursing standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Department, managing a wide range of acute and emergent conditions.
• Evaluate patient outcomes, consult with other specialists and ancillary departments as required, and adjust nursing care processes to ensure optimal patient care and efficient department flow.
• Deliver holistic care that addresses the psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of patient well-being.
• Meet the communication needs of patients and their families, providing clear and empathetic information.
• Demonstrate initiative and responsibility indicative of professional nursing expectations.
• Communicate effectively and promptly with ED physicians regarding changes in patient status, symptomatology, and results of diagnostic studies.

Required Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Illinois.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.
• Trauma Nurse Specialist (TNS) certification.

Skills & Competencies

• Clinical Skills: Proficient in direct and indirect patient care, comprehensive patient assessment, care planning, intervention, and outcome evaluation in an emergency setting. Ability to respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.

• Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members, strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, adaptability, initiative, and a high level of professional responsibility.
