Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.ResponsibilitiesEssential Job Functions:As a Grocery Clerk/Cashier you will process customer transactions through the check lane quickly, accurately, and efficiently; understand the Point of Sale system, and handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, loyalty offers, coupons and checkout procedures according to company policyRetail Clerk is responsible for rotating all merchandise according to code dating policies and check product quality to ensure freshness; review sell by dates and take appropriate actionHourly Grocery Clerk/Cashier will promote trust and respect among team membersRuler Store Clerk is charged with creating an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products soldGrocery Clerk gains and maintains knowledge of products sold and be able to respond to questions and make suggestions about productsGreet, engage and assist customersInform customers of grocery specialsOrder, label, stock and inventory merchandiseReport product ordering, shipping & pricing discrepancies to store managementUnderstand and adhere to the company's limits on cash shortages and/or overages and work honestly and effectively to control lossUnderstand and adhere to guidelines on restricted sale items (i.e., Alcohol, Tobacco, and Fireworks)Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special adsAdhere to all food safety regulations and guidelinesEnsure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are maintainedReinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions and notify store managementPractice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notify store management of any items in need of repairNotify management of customer or employee accidentsAdhere to all local, state and federal laws, and company guidelinesPhysical demands include, but are not limited to, standing up to 100 % of the time, lifting an average of 50 lbs., pushing/pulling carts and skids, bending, twisting, squatting, turning, climbing on a ladder or stool, manual dexterity with both arms and legs, and repetitive motion of hands/wristsAbility to work cooperatively in high paced and sometimes stressful environment.Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner.Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.QualificationsMinimum Position Qualifications:Knowledge of basic mathAbility to fully complete the cashier training programAbility to memorize produce items and sale itemsEffective communication and reading skillsMust be 18 years oldDesired Previous Job Experience:Customer service experienceRetail experience
