Aftercare Teacher (Part-Time)

Location: Happy Days Preschool & Summer Camp of Brick

Position Details:

• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 2:00–6:00 PM

• Type: Part-Time

Role Overview:
We are looking for an energetic, caring, and reliable Aftercare Teacher to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who loves working with children, enjoys planning fun activities, and is passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of young learners.

What You’ll Do:

• Keep Kids Safe & Happy: Supervise children to ensure their safety and well-being throughout the afternoon.

• Lead Fun Activities: Plan and engage children in arts & crafts, games, outdoor play, and other hands-on activities.

• Support Learning: Provide homework help and encourage academic growth.

• Build a Positive Community: Foster a respectful, inclusive, and supportive atmosphere where every child feels valued.

• Connect with Families: Share updates with parents about their child’s day, behavior, and achievements.

• Work as a Team: Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to provide a consistent and enjoyable aftercare experience.

What We’re Looking For:

• High school diploma or equivalent (college coursework in education or child development is a plus).

• Prior experience working with children (aftercare, camp, or classroom preferred).

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

• Dependable, punctual, and patient with a positive attitude.

• First Aid & CPR certified (or willing to obtain upon hire).

• Ability to stay calm, flexible, and creative in a dynamic setting.

• Strong multitasking and organizational abilities.

• A nurturing, empathetic approach with both children and families.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 40 lbs.

• Comfortable supervising children indoors and outdoors, including on the playground.
