COMMUNICATIONS INTERN* - OFFICE OF THE MAYOR

Position Overview The City of Riverside, Mayor's Office, is currently accepting applications for the position of Communications Intern (classified as Administrative Intern). The Communications Intern will perform entry‑level administrative duties in a professional environment, assist in a wide variety of tasks and research projects, and complete related work as required. Responsibilities Animation with online software Audience analysis with an emphasis on inclusivity and diversity of voice Social media content development, including content writing, planning and implementation Assistance with development of communications and social media calendar Writing talking points for events and scripts for video and interviews Staffing events with the Mayor or Mayor's staff, taking photos and interacting with community members Ongoing strategic analysis of communications needs Captioning, editing, and uploading videos to social media and other online platforms Website review and maintenance using a content management system Environmental scanning and research for content and talking points Occasional press release writing Additional non‑communications related tasks as required Education Current enrollment in college courses; or completion within the last five years of an undergraduate degree studying public or business administration or a related field.
