The company owns and operates Bal Harbour Shops, a historic luxury shopping destination. Bal Harbour Shops is a global leader in the industry and is best known for its curated retail, as well as the emotional connection to its tenants and customers.The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all maintenance operations for Bal Harbour Shops, ensuring the property consistently meets the highest standards of appearance, safety, and functionality. This role provides leadership to the maintenance team, coordinates vendors and contractors, and works closely with property management to support luxury retailers and deliver an exceptional guest experience.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and supervise maintenance staff, including technicians, painters, and custodial personnelEnsure buildings, common areas, storefront exteriors, hardscape, lighting, and infrastructure meet luxury standardsDevelop and execute preventive maintenance programs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, irrigation, and structural systemsOversee daily work orders, inspections, and emergency response effortsCoordinate and manage third-party vendors, contractors, and service providersConduct regular property inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety issues, and aesthetic improvementsEnsure compliance with OSHA standards, local codes, and property safety policiesSupport tenant build-outs, move-ins, and ongoing maintenance coordinationRespond to after-hours emergenciesMaintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and reportsCollaborate with directors, security, landscaping, and janitorial teamsUphold the prestige, cleanliness, and visual excellence of the shopping centerQualifications & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or associate degree preferredMinimum of 5–7 years of commercial property maintenance experience, including 2–3 years in a supervisory roleExperience in luxury retail, hospitality, mixed-use, or Class-A commercial properties preferredStrong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, irrigation, and lighting systemsProven leadership and team management skillsStrong problem-solving and decision-making abilitiesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsProficiency with maintenance management systems (CMMS) and basic computer applicationsPhysical & Work RequirementsAbility to walk the property for extended periodsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds and perform hands-on tasks as neededComfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditionsAbility to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and on-call shiftsPreferred QualificationsProfessional certifications such as CFM, CPM, HVAC, or electrical licensesBilingual abilities a plusValid driver's licenseThis description outlines the basic responsibilities and requirements for the position noted.
