Job Overview Position: In-Home Reading Tutor (Part‑Time, 2 hours per week) Schedule: 2 one‑hour lessons per week in the mornings for the summer Location: East Hollywood, Los Angeles, CA 90029 Pay: $30 per hour About PRIDE Learning PRIDE Learning Co. is a tutoring company specializing in multisensory reading programs for children with learning difficulties. They provide scripted lesson plans focusing on phonics, spelling, fluency, comprehension, and writing skills. Responsibilities Provide 1:1 individualized tutoring sessions focused on enhancing students’ reading and literacy skills. Follow scripted lesson plans tailored to each student’s needs. Use PRIDE’s learning technologies and resources to enhance instruction. Manage session time effectively, ensuring a positive and focused learning environment. Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs, including those with special education requirements. Maintain prompt and consistent communication with PRIDE staff about student progress and adjustments to the tutoring plan. Qualifications Experience as an instructional assistant, ABA therapist, paraprofessional, teacher, substitute teacher, graduate student in education, or speech therapist assistant is a plus. Ready to be trained to implement a multisensory reading program. Experience working with school‑age students and a passion for teaching. Strong rapport‑building skills with students. Excellent communication skills and ability to motivate students. Comfortable using electronic devices such as a laptop for lessons. Must have access to an electronic device for conducting lessons. Must be able to commute to the student’s location in East Hollywood within a 20‑minute drive.
