Learn more at About the Opportunity Junior Project Manager (PM) – Support Release Management, Infrastructure Operations, Cloud Initiatives, and Project Management activities across multiple technical teams and vendor organizations. The role coordinates software releases, infrastructure, and cloud projects, tracks schedules, facilitates cross‑functional communication, and ensures successful execution of technical initiatives. The Junior PM serves as the operational bridge between business stakeholders, development teams, QA, DevOps, Infrastructure, Cloud Engineering, Security, and third‑party vendors. Duties and Responsibilities Project Management Support Support Project Managers in planning, coordinating, and executing infrastructure, cloud, and software delivery initiatives. Develop and maintain project schedules, work plans, milestones, and resource trackers. Track project progress, deliverables, action items, risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies (RAID Log). Prepare project status reports, executive dashboards, meeting agendas, minutes, and follow‑up actions. Coordinate project governance activities and ensure the timely completion of project deliverables. Support budgeting, resource planning, and project documentation throughout the project lifecycle. Release Management Coordination Coordinate end‑to‑end software release activities across multiple vendors and technical teams. Assist in planning, scheduling, and tracking software releases and infrastructure deployments. Maintain release calendars and communicate release schedules to stakeholders. Ensure release readiness by coordinating approvals, change requests, deployment plans, and rollback procedures. Support post‑release validation, issue tracking, lessons learned, and release reporting. Infrastructure & Cloud Project Support Coordinate infrastructure modernization, server upgrades, cloud migration, and platform enhancement projects. Support planning and execution of Azure, AWS, or hybrid cloud initiatives. Coordinate infrastructure maintenance windows, system upgrades, patching activities, and environment readiness. Track infrastructure deliverables, dependencies, and implementation milestones. Work closely with Infrastructure, Cloud Engineering, Security, Network, and Operations teams to ensure the successful implementation of technical projects. Assist with cloud resource planning, deployment schedules, and operational readiness activities. Cross‑Functional Coordination Facilitate collaboration among Development, QA, DevOps, Infrastructure, Cloud Engineering, Security, Product Management, Operations, and business stakeholders. Coordinate project meetings, release planning sessions, deployment reviews, and change management activities. Ensure dependencies, milestones, and deliverables remain aligned across multiple workstreams and vendor teams. Escalate risks, scheduling conflicts, and project issues to leadership. Release Planning & Deployment Support Maintain release roadmaps and deployment schedules. Coordinate Agile sprint releases, production deployments, and infrastructure implementation activities. Support build pipeline coordination, version control processes, and deployment documentation. Work with DevOps teams to improve release automation and deployment efficiency. Monitor release execution and coordinate post‑deployment validation activities. Process Improvement & Governance Identify opportunities to improve project delivery, release management, and infrastructure coordination processes. Assist in developing standardized project management templates, release checklists, and operational procedures. Ensure compliance with organizational governance, ITIL Change Management, and release management processes. Support continuous improvement initiatives across project delivery and operational support functions. Qualifications Education – Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or related discipline. Experience – 3+ years supporting Project Management, Release Management, Infrastructure Operations, Cloud Projects, DevOps, or IT Service Management. Required Skills & Certifications Experience coordinating multiple technical teams, vendors, and project workstreams. Working knowledge of Agile methodologies, SDLC, and project management best practices. Understanding of ITIL Change, Release, and Incident Management processes. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Experience creating project plans, schedules, dashboards, status reports, and executive presentations. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced enterprise environment. Additional Requirements Experience supporting Azure, AWS, or hybrid cloud environments. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, Microsoft Project, Git, Jenkins, or GitHub. Knowledge of infrastructure technologies, including servers, networking, databases, storage, virtualization, and cloud platforms. Experience supporting Federal Government IT programs is highly desirable. CAPM, PMP, Scrum Master, Agile, or ITIL Foundation certification is preferred. Background Requirements Must possess or be eligible to obtain and complete a Public Trust background investigation and/or a Public Trust clearance. Citizenship Status Required Must be a U.S. Citizen. Physical Requirements None required for this position. Location McLean, VA – with the option of hybrid (remote) 1‑2 days per week in the office.
