Postdoctoral Associate As the preeminent educational institution in the world focused on work, employment and labor, the School of Industrial and Labor Relations (ILR) generates and shares knowledge that improves the lives of workers and transforms the future of work. The Global Labor and Work department of the ILR School is seeking a postdoctoral research associate whose research focuses on international organizations with a focus on labor rights or economic and social rights. Candidates should have theoretical expertise in international relations, international organizations, international labor law or international human rights. This is a full‑time, academic, non‑tenure track, term position with an initial one‑year appointment from July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027. The position may be extended for a second year, depending on available funding and work. No teaching responsibilities are required. The Postdoctoral Associate will receive regular supervision and mentorship from Associate Professor Dina Bishara. The Postdoctoral Associate will receive $70,000.00 in salary as well as a modest research budget and a moving allowance. Successful candidates should have research experience and theoretical knowledge of the working of international organizations, with a strong preference for those whose work includes labor rights or economic and social rights. These include the International Labor Organization and the Human Rights Council. Requirements: Must hold a PhD by the start of the appointment in Political Science (International Relations), Sociology, Law, or a closely related field. Demonstrate strong training and experience in qualitative and/or quantitative research methods. This is an academic, full‑time, non‑tenure track term opportunity located in Ithaca, NY on the campus of Cornell University, and is benefits eligible. $70,000.00 salary, a modest research budget, and a moving allowance. Pay rate will be determined considering prior relevant work, education level, academic discipline, and applicable skills.
