Our client seeks a Senior Data Engineer to lead database architecture, data migration, and real-time data product initiatives supporting a modern cloud-based platform. The role will establish a scalable data foundation, migrate enterprise datasets from legacy systems, and implement governance and auditing to support compliance and downstream application teams.

Rate: $70.00 to $73.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement PostgreSQL databases and schemas for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Lead migration of large Oracle databases to AWS RDS for PostgreSQL with data integrity and minimal downtime.
• Build and optimize real-time data products using Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, and Apache Hudi.
• Analyze and optimize existing schemas, recommending structural improvements while ensuring integrity.
• Design and implement change data capture and comprehensive auditing solutions.
• Develop and maintain a data catalog and schema documentation for application integration.

Experience Requirements:

• Deep proficiency with PostgreSQL design, administration, optimization, and SQL.
• Proven enterprise data migration experience, preferably Oracle to PostgreSQL, with strong change management.
• Hands-on AWS experience including RDS, EC2, networking, and security configurations.
• Experience with streaming and real-time processing using Kafka and Flink, plus data lakehouse tech such as Hudi or Delta Lake.
• Data modeling for normalized and denormalized schemas across OLTP and analytical workloads.
• Implemented CDC patterns and audit logging for lineage and change tracking.
• Strong communication and documentation skills for architectures and schemas.
• Preferred: AWS Glue, Lambda, or Step Functions; data quality frameworks; Terraform or CloudFormation; application modernization; understanding of data security, encryption, and compliance such as GDPR or HIPAA.

The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
