Travel RN - ICU

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CCU position requiring strong cardiac ICU experience with advanced devices such as LVAD, Impella, IABP, and TVP.

Job Details

• Work in the Cardiac Care Unit (CCU) of a hospital setting,
• Cardiac and medical intensive care patients, with some step-down overflow patients,
• Utilizes advanced cardiac devices including Impella, IABP, ventilators, CRRT, invasive lines, and hemodynamic monitoring,
• Patient ratio of 2:1,
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM),
• Floating to other qualified units or campuses required based on census needs,

Job Requirements

• Active RN license (SC state or compact) required,
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS,
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with a mix of MICU and Cardiac ICU experience preferred, step-down experience a plus,
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience within a comparable unit,
• Minimum 1 year of experience with Epic EMR required,
• Strong cardiac ICU background required, such as CCU or CVICU experience,
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias,
• Experience with post cardiac surgery care (not directly from OR),
• Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization and intervention care,
• Proficient in sheath removal procedures,
• Skills in IV therapy, central and PICC line management, arterial line management, and blood product administration,
• Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and respiratory failure care,
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips,
• Experience with continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation monitoring,

Additional Information

• Provide advanced cardiac and medical ICU nursing care, including management of complex cardiac devices and hemodynamic monitoring,
• Participate in mandatory orientation held every Monday, along with annual compliance training,
• Complete pre-assignment testing and required modules within 48 hours of receiving login credentials,
• Travelers must reside more than 100 miles from any Prisma Health facility to be eligible for full travel rate, with reduced rate options for 90-99.9 miles,
• Night shift and select specialty exceptions apply to minimum distance requirements from the contracted campus,
• First-time travelers may be considered,
• Skills in infection prevention, isolation precautions, and PPE use are expected,
• Experience with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure management preferred,
• Familiarity with IV insulin protocols for endocrine/metabolic care preferred
