SUMMARY

The Maintenance Training Supervisor oversees and supervises the development of SOP’s and training programs for all tasks and equipment programs in the maintenance department, including mobile, fixed plant, electrical and mill.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Participate in the development, administration, and maintenance of Maintenance training plans and programs. Perform classroom and initial training for Maintenance employees. Work with Maintenance Foremen and Supervisors to identify and develop trainers for all tasks and equipment. Work with Maintenance Foremen and Supervisors to determine training needs. Develop and oversee train-the-trainer program in Maintenance utilizing salaried and hourly employees to conduct peer training. Reviews trainers and makes recommendations to add or remove trainers based on effectiveness of training. Prepare training schedule for new employees to ensure all areas of training are adequately covered. Create training outline and materials as needed. Ensure hourly trainers perform consistent training for all tasks and equipment. Perform underground equipment training for new hires. Track equipment training for existing employees, including completed training, re-training if expired, new equipment task training, and equipment usage observations. Audit existing training paperwork and in the field practices to verify compliance. Complete training for tasks as identified in Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Standards, and/or Policies. Audit processes, training and SOP’s for effectiveness. Stay apprised of changes in equipment or tasks to ensure training procedures are updated or created as needed. Write new or revise existing SOP’s, Standards, and/or Policies following the Management of Change (MOC) process. Perform risk assessments in preparation for writing or revising SOP’s, Standards, and/or Policies. Complete all paperwork involved in training, including sign-in sheets and time spent training, verifying all documents are correct, updating training matrix. Review and audit paperwork completed by hourly task and equipment trainers for compliance with regulations. Complete 5000-23s for final evaluation. Follow up on task training request form and schedule. Assist with Annual Refresher Training, including development of training criteria and delivering training.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School graduate or equivalent. 5 years’ minimum operational experience in industry, underground mining experience preferred. Prior training experience preferred. MSHA blue card certification preferred. Demonstrated safety leadership. Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. #J-18808-Ljbffr Hecla Mining Co.
