Description The Warehouse. is searching for a Service Technician to be based in Portsmouth. About The Warehouse: The Warehouse is a leading equipment rental company and distributor of abrasive blasting, painting, and safety equipment and supplies, supporting customers in many diverse, specialized industries including infrastructure, chemical plants, maritime, water treatment facilities, food and pharmaceutical, power, and energy. Currently headquartered just outside of Houston, TX, the company has strategically expanded over its 20+ year history into new regions and states, with 4 additional branches located in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Texas, and Louisiana. This role is responsible partnering with the team while representing The Warehouse to make a positive impression and ensuring satisfaction. Hours Monday – Friday, 7AM – 4PM Location In‑office role Portsmouth, VA. (telework not available). Responsibilities We are looking for a service technician to serve our customers and perform equipment and machine repairs. The service technician's responsibilities include performing routine maintenance both on site and on customer job sites. The service technician may install and test products and provide customers with instructions on the proper usage of the product. To be successful you should have excellent technical and mechanical skills. You should have experience with basic hand, power, and diagnostic tools, and you should be physically able to lift heavy equipment. Here’s what you’ll need to demonstrate: Answering telephone inquiries and assisting clients. Installing and testing products, equipment, and machinery and providing instructions to customers on the proper usage of equipment. Using diagnostic tools to identify issues and evaluating the available information. Ensure all equipment is clean, tagged, and properly stored. Complete service on shop vehicles. Ensure vehicles are clean and well maintained. Complete inventory on shop supplies. Perform appropriate documentation. Complete service calls as needed. Assist with job set up/take down as needed. Account for inventory and time while on service calls. Keep shop clean and organized. Assist with Warehouse organization as needed. Stock and received items as they come in.
