Senior Mechanical Engineer

Carrier in Collierville, TN is seeking a results-driven Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead high-impact operational continuous improvement, electromechanical system integration, and facility optimization initiatives. In this dynamic role, the Senior Mechanical Engineer collaborates cross-functionally across manufacturing operations to design, implement, and validate robust lean manufacturing processes that maximize throughput, safety, and equipment performance. This position offers a compelling platform for an innovative technical expert to drive meaningful root-cause problem solving, shape baseline engineering standards, and directly influence overall plant efficiency and output.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, communicate, implement, and validate process enhancements efforts based on customer requirements.
• Participate in the continuous improvement activities
• Work closely with production, quality, maintenance, and safety to achieve operational goals
• Contribute to research, development, design, testing, and building electromechanical systems and controls
• Analyze and determine best equipment setup, layout, and process flow for maximizing processes of parts
• Implement process improvement/development utilizing lean principles.
• Provide technical support involving the installation of new equipment, modification of existing equipment, repair and maintenance of equipment
• Incorporate considerations for safety, environmental, and health in all design work
• Perform problem-solving, troubleshooting, and expert root cause analysis on all breakdowns to minimize downtime
• Propose and implement changes to existing processes to streamline and improve overall performance
• Develop and coordinate engineering documents, including revision control, work instructions, maintenance instructions, including safety, environmental, and health

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering
• 5+ years' experience in troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic or electrical manufacturing equipment

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related discipline
• Hands-on experience with CAD/design software applications and high-speed, high-frequency welding
• Mechanical inclination with a proven ability to visualize and implement innovative technical solutions
• Understanding and practical application of Lean principles and Quality System fundamentals
• English communication skills to translate complex technical concepts across cross-functional teams and to executive leadership
• Interpersonal and leadership capabilities to influence decisions upstream and downstream across the organization
• Proven track record of effective collaboration with geographically dispersed, culturally diverse teams
• Self-directed self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced design environment
• Flexibility to adapt workload and working hours as required by project demands

Pay Range

The annual salary for this position is between $79,000.00 - $158,000.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate. The pay range will not be below the minimum wage applicable to the jurisdiction in which the applicant is to be employed.

Other Compensation

This position may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
