Maintenance Technician

Key Responsibilities Assure that all employees are trained and that work practices meet all requirements. Plan, schedule, and coordinate corrective and preventive maintenance activities. Develop a weekly plan and define and share job priorities. Perform purchasing and procuring of mechanical parts and resources, and assist in defining critical spare parts and ensure their availability. Participate in weekly planning meetings that include hourly staff and production supervisors. Participate in Root Cause Analysis for any and all plant failures. Identify, analyze, and review equipment maintenance problems and drive sustainable solutions. Assist in the development of a maintenance‑centered training program for all technicians. Support the development of a plant capital expense revenue project and collaborate with other departments and engineering to evaluate equipment. Work with vendors and OEMs to ensure equipment specifications are met and track adherence to maintenance and capital budgets. Ensure maintenance areas are clean, including the tool room and bone yard. Support production processes as needed by the business. Other Important Functions Support production processes as needed by the business. Maintain professional demeanor and build credibility with all levels within the organization. Use problem‑solving and decision‑making skills, including PLC setup and lat‑logic programming. Possess welding ability and experience with heavy mobile equipment maintenance. Demonstrated ability with principles of maintenance planning, scheduling, and coordination. Understand and follow operating manuals, and troubleshoot using reliability‑based techniques and equipment. Job Specifications Education: 3–5 years of mechanical engineering in a heavy industrial production environment. Experience: Direct supervision, reliability‑based maintenance concepts, maintenance planning and scheduling, industrial electrical systems, and process control. Computer proficiency: Email, Excel, Word, etc. Language: English written and verbal communication. Knowledge, Skills and Attributes Strong interpersonal skills to counsel managers and employees and communicate effectively. Presentation skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with other management staff and the public. Strong organizational and time‑management skills, able to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities. Professional demeanor and credibility across all organizational levels. Welding capability. PLC and Lat‑logic programming skills. Experience with heavy mobile equipment maintenance and process control systems. Electrical maintenance experience and principle of maintenance planning. Ability to understand and follow operating manuals. Troubleshooting skills using reliability‑based techniques. Knowledge of process equipment and ability to work in a team environment.
