Floor Technician – Now Hiring for a Stable, Day‑Shift Campus Role

The Floor Technician helps keep a beautiful university campus clean, safe, and welcoming for students, staff, and visitors. If you have experience in janitorial work , custodial cleaning , or floor care — or you're simply reliable, hardworking, and eager to learn — this is a great opportunity to join a supportive team and build long‑term skills.

• Day shift: 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
• Stable, year‑round work in a clean, climate‑controlled campus environment
• All equipment and supplies provided

• Clean and maintain floors in common areas, restrooms, hallways, classrooms, and dining halls across campus.
• Mop, scrub, buff, sweep, and care for a variety of flooring types.
• Operate floor machines such as auto‑scrubbers, buffers, and burnishers .
• Follow safety guidelines when using cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Respond quickly to spills or hazards to keep areas safe.
• Provide friendly, professional service when interacting with students, staff, and visitors.
• Work with the custodial team to complete daily and periodic cleaning tasks.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hospitality‑level presentation.

• Experience in floor care, janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or environmental services is helpful — but not required for strong applicants willing to learn.
• Comfortable using or learning to use floor care equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in keeping spaces clean.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to safety.
• Customer‑service mindset when interacting with the campus community.

• Experience in high‑traffic facilities such as schools, universities, hospitals, or commercial buildings.
• Background in hospitality, environmental services, or building maintenance .

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Virginia Beach, VA.

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $19.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Virginia Beach,VA.
