Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 3x12-hour shifts | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult cardiac telemetry patients in a fast-paced 48-bed PCU, including those with congestive heart failure, NSTEMI, AFib with RVR, and post-cardiac catheterization diagnoses
• Perform continuous telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Administer and manage cardiac and vasoactive drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem/Diltiazem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Nitroglycerin, Lasix, and insulin
• Perform blood product administration, peripheral IV management, phlebotomy, and IV insertion and maintenance; follow Heparin and PCA protocols
• Complete timely discharges, hourly rounding, and bedside shift report for all patients; document using Cerner
• Float within scope to meet facility needs; participate in a team nursing model alongside PCAs, CNAs, and LPNs

Required Qualifications

• Active Maryland RN license or Compact license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of PCU / Telemetry experience required
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Prophecy Relias Basic EKG assessment required
• 4 hours of stroke continuing education annually required
• Local candidates are welcome and accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Level I or Level II trauma center experience preferred
• Pre- and post-cardiac catheterization care experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with team nursing models in high-acuity, high-turnover environments preferred
