Accountant | Intermountain Farmers Association (IFA) The Tone: This is a full-time role at Intermountain Farmers Association (IFA), located in Salt Lake City, Utah. IFA is a regional farm supply co-op with diverse operations including feed production, agronomy services, and retail stores throughout the intermountain west. This Accountant position is crucial for maintaining the accuracy of various financial records and supporting the company's corporate accounting and finance department. The TL;DR Role: Early Career Type: Full-time Location: In-person, Salt Lake City, UT Team: Collaborative team environment within a supportive corporate culture Mission: Support the corporate accounting and finance department by ensuring the accuracy of financial records and assisting in financial statement development. Tech Stack: MS Excel, SAP (preferred) What You'll Actually Do Complete: Assist in the monthly close process, ensuring accurate journal entries and reconciliations are in accordance with US GAAP and have appropriate supporting documentation. Support: Provide audit requests and responses for external audits, ensuring compliance with internal controls. Analyze: Examine and analyze financial data, accounting records, and reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and compliance with reporting standards, communicating findings and making recommendations. Respond: Address daily customer and store management questions regarding transaction/payment issues and internal accounting/reporting in a timely manner. Improve: Contribute to an efficient accounting department by streamlining processes, documenting procedures, and identifying opportunities for improvement and automation. The Must-Haves Background: At least an Associate degree in accounting, with a Bachelor's degree in accounting strongly preferred, demonstrating a strong understanding of the application of US GAAP. Experience: Preferred 1-3 years of accounting experience, with public accounting experience being strongly preferred. Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel, excellent problem-solving, project management, and communication skills (both written and verbal), strong organizational abilities, and analytical skills. Bonus: Experience using SAP, highly skilled in Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on advanced Microsoft Excel functions (including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analyses), and demonstrated ability to leverage artificial intelligence to improve efficiency and decision making. #J-18808-Ljbffr
