Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU/Med Surg/Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Chemotherapy certification preferred, but not required Description: This position is for a registered nurse specializing in PCU, Med Surg, and Oncology. The unit primarily cares for adult patients with a variety of diagnoses. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4 in PCU and 1:5 in Med Surg during the day shift. On nights, the ratio is approximately 1:5 to 6 patients. Travelers may float to other Med Surg and PCU units as needed. Common medications and drips include chemotherapy, heparin, cardizem, and protonix. The facility uses the EPIC electronic medical record system. Compliance with the fingernail policy is required, and artificial nails are prohibited. Hourly rounding is part of the patient experience focus. Ideal candidates possess a genuine desire to care for patients and work well in a team-oriented environment.
