Speech Language Pathologist
This position requires a 5-day work schedule with 8 hours per day, totaling 40 hours per week.
Job Description
The Speech Language Pathologist will examine, test, diagnose, and administer remedial treatments for patients with speech and hearing disorders. Responsibilities include evaluating patients regarding various therapeutic techniques for the rehabilitation of speech, language, hearing, and oral motor disorders. The role involves recording speech samples, conducting phonetic analyses of speech ability, documenting test results, and recommending remedial treatments. Additionally, the SLP will perform evaluations with a strong emphasis on receptive and expressive language skills, speech fluency, vocal and oral motor competence, articulation, and auditory skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the direction, utilization, supervision, instruction, and evaluation of supportive staff, volunteers, and students within the department.
- Interpret and carry out the prescription from the physician, including receiving and writing verbal orders from healthcare providers.
- Maintain good public relations, protect confidential data, and ensure the economic use of time and supplies.
- Ensure the safety and welfare of patients and associates.
- Provide active communication with patients regarding their progress, home programs, and any issues related to the therapeutic process.
- Perform other diverse duties as requested.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Bachelor's degree required from an accredited/approved school of Speech Language Pathology.
- New graduates are accepted, although experience is preferred; Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) supervision may be arranged.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist is required prior to employment.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
